Terms of use
Last updated 5 September 2026
Time2Pray is free to use. These terms say what you can expect from us and what we ask of you. Using the app means accepting them.
1. Prayer times are a guide
Prayer times are calculated from your location using established methods, and jamāʿah times are entered by the masjids themselves. Both can be wrong: a phone's location can drift, a method may not be the one your community follows, and a masjid may change its timetable without updating it here.
Where it matters, confirm with your local masjid. The app is a convenience, not a religious authority, and it should not be the only thing you rely on for the beginning or end of a prayer, a fast, or Ramadan.
2. The Qibla
The direction is computed from your position and shown using your phone's compass. Compasses are affected by metal, magnets, phone cases and nearby electronics. If the app says the compass needs calibrating, it means it.
3. Religious content
The Qur'ān, its translations, hadith and duʿā' are reproduced from established sources and shown with their references so you can check them. We take accuracy seriously and treat reported errors as urgent, but we do not issue rulings and nothing in the app is a fatwā. For anything that requires a judgement, ask a qualified scholar.
4. Your account
You are responsible for keeping access to your account secure and for what is done with it. Give accurate information when you sign up. You can delete your account at any time from within the app.
5. Submitting masjid times
If you are given permission to manage a masjid's times, you are publishing information a congregation will act on. Submit only times you are authorised to give and know to be correct. We may remove entries, or withdraw permission, where information is inaccurate or submitted without authority.
Times you submit stay published even if you later delete your account, because the congregation depends on them — see the deletion page.
6. Fair use
Please do not:
- Submit false times, or content that is offensive, misleading or unlawful.
- Attempt to access other people's accounts or data.
- Scrape, overload or interfere with the service.
- Reuse the app's content commercially without permission.
We may suspend accounts that do these things.
7. Availability
The app is provided as it is. We do not promise it will always be available or free of faults, and features may change or be withdrawn. Much of it — prayer times, the Qibla, the Qur'ān — is built to keep working without a network, but some parts need one.
8. Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from relying on times or directions shown in the app. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
9. Changes
These terms may change. The date at the top will change with them, and continuing to use the app after that means accepting the new version.
